Internships at Golden Star
In March 2020 Golden Star announced its Inclusion and Diversity policy, which targets 20% female representation across the business by the end of 2025 and enhanced involvement of women in work placements, internships and graduate opportunities. Golden Star recognises that internships are an important part of students’ professional development and already offers internships in our mining operations in Ghana. As part of our commitment towards gender equality and increasing female representation, Golden Star partnered with Women in Mining (UK) in 2020 to create internship opportunities for the next generation of women who want to consider a career in mining. These internships will act as champions for inclusion and diversity, and promote, through Golden Star, what the mining industry has to offer to women in all professions.
2020 Women In Mining UK Internships
Golden Star is thrilled to have participated in WIM UK’s 2020 internship programme and to have welcomed Benedicte and Katy into the corporate office in London. Benedicte and Katy completed a 12-week summer internship programme in the Corporate Development and Sustainability functions respectively. These internships provided Golden Star with the opportunity to work with two incredible post-graduate students, contribute to their professional development and also learn from their feedback and experience.
Both Benedicte and Katy have written a blog post on their experience at Golden Star. Please click on the links below to view.
