Golden Star Wassa Limited was awarded “Responsible and Sustainable Mining Company of the year” at the Responsible Business and Leadership Excellence (RBLE) awards held in Accra on 28th April 2023. Our Managing Director Mr. Shaddrack Sowah was also awarded Responsible Mining Personality for his transformational Leadership at Wassa.

The Responsible Business and Leadership Excellence Awards celebrates and recognizes outstanding achievements in responsible business and leadership excellence. The 2023 event which attracted a record number of entries from businesses across different sectors in Ghana was under the theme “Responsible Business: The sustainable path to Profitability”.

The awards aim to showcase the importance of responsible business practices in driving sustainable development and creating value for all stakeholders.

It also demonstrates that responsible business practices are not only the right thing to do, but also a strategic imperative for long-term success.

By integrating sustainability into their operations and decision-making, businesses create shared values for all stakeholders, including employees, customers, suppliers, and society at large.

 The awards ceremony was a testament to the power of responsible business to drive positive change and create shared value for all stakeholders.

Commenting on the awards, Mr. Sowah explained that “At Golden Star we aim to surpass all regulatory requirements on environmental, social and sustainability interventions.”

Going forward Golden Star will continue to maintain Environmental, Social and Governance principles as an organization. This provides shared value for Golden Star and its stakeholders.
