Early lead

The competition was made up of two parts: a practical section and an orals section. For the practical section, Golden Star Wassa took on an early lead securing 20 points ahead of Future Global, Asante Chirano and Ghana Manganese in that order. For the orals we established our lead by beating our closest contenders FGR with 11 points in the 2nd round. This round, in addition to our performance in the practical section established our lead and eventual winning of the competition.

For the first time in many years, the supporters of the various mining companies kept the Ghana Television studios, where the competition was being aired, alive with loud cheers and songs in support of their teams, especially during the practical section of the competition.
